I knew I liked Gingrich. Now I like him a little more.

Imagine a Free Tibet!

Imagine a Free Tibet!
The article itself is great. But here's the pull quote:

Imagine a Free Tibet!
The article itself is great. But here's the pull quote:
"
- There will always be bad people.
- Bad people don't care about hurting good people. Appeals to shame, empathy and guilt don't work on them. That's why they're bad people.
- Bad people respond to force. They don't like it and will change their behavior to avoid it.
- Good people need to use force to stop the bad people from hurting other good people.
- It's not the same when a good person uses force to stop a bad person as when the bad person uses it to harm a good person.
- Not letting good people use force against bad people encourages more bad behavior.
- Good people using force against bad people should be encouraged. This will make the world a better place.
To all the pacifists out there who think guns are the problem, all the moral lightweights harping about the "cycle of violence", please remember:
Guns liberated Auschwitz and violence ended slavery. The world you "imagine" is not here on Earth but in the next life, and you're really gumming things up for the rest of us by confusing the two."

The truth of this is is born out by the statistics of gun ownership[with concealed carry] vs crime in the US. The more civilians carry firearms in public places, the less crime there is. In places like NYC and Chicago, where only the bodyguards of international civilians can get carry permits, crime is much more prevalent... which makes me wonder about the politicians who fight so hard to keep their population disarmed.

The VA AG is going to try and intervene and make the Republican primary in his state fair and representative of what the party members want. I have to say that my first thought, upon hearing that only Romney and Paul made the ballot, was that the fix was in. Most rational people can't and won't vote for Ron Paul, so that hands Virginia and her 49 delegates to Mitt Romney. Can you spell "the fix is in"? I knew you could!

The Beginning
While awaiting the end of 2011, I decided to dump Facebook and strike out on my own. Most of my postings are political, so this seems more appropriate.
One of the titles I considered was Blue State, Red Witch, but it seemed too clunky and not at all clever. But I have a book called The Word Museum, by Jeffrey Kacirk, and it's full of neat words that aren't used any more... like noctuary, which is an account of what happens at night, the converse of diary, which is the account of the day's doings. Since I do most of my posting at night, it seemed to fit.
So, here we go.
